Hi all, I have just come across your product and it looks great.
I'm interested in using Scanse 3d for CAD drafting, I'd like to be able to set this up on a tripod on site and run multiple scans and stitch them together to recreate the existing site.
This would prevent multiple site visits, incorrect measurements taken as well as looking very cool indeed.
An example of a visit to site today was to measure a set of floating stairs to create a handrail for them, I have to sketch out and measure the stairs in x and y coords for each individual step, but it becomes hard when there is nothing around to reference / measure too, and if measuring from step to step the tolerances and margin for error add up quickly.
The tolerances I need should be within a few mm over a few meters, I currently use tape measures and laser distance measures to get the best results.
Could some users who own the Scanse already, run some tests for accuracy.
maybe by scanning small paper targets at 1m, 2m and 5m etc then we would be able to say the accuracy range is approx
1mm @ 1m
?mm @ 40m
If the scan data is uploaded I could load it into my software to get the point distances and repost them for everyone to see
I have tried the tape measure function in Visualiser - does it work? or am I using it incorrectly? it could easily be the later as I'm very new to this
< had to delete the user manual graphs and charts that display accuracy as a new user can only post one image >
Here is another scanner product that's worth 16K which in the scanner world is still an entry product,
they have a great fold flat tripod design and tripod adapter
I cannot wait to hear more of what this product can do!
