I have build the scanner according to the guide but still run into some problems with proper head rotation.
First of all I realized that the stepper motor direction is changing depending weather it is connected to the 1A or the 2.1A out of the battery.
The switch is working but the head won't reach its initial position without manual 'help'.
When performing a 360 scan the head moves quite steady and even for about 180 degrees. Then it get stuck.
All parts are aligned quite well and the head is tightly connected via the shaft screw.
Any advice highly appreciated,
