Thank you for your detailed reply. To be honest I don't know the LAS format, but my background is CAD so I'm not constantly working with point cloids. I'm sure I can import pretty much every format with meshlab. Generally I'd very much welcome a simple CSV export, this would also help with other projects since it's really easy to read.
I'm looking forward to hearing more about the 3d scanning implementation. This really could be a game changer for architects working in refurbishment projects. I understand your concern about putting too much function into your visualizer, but I would still welcome the possibility to have all functions in one application, at least in the long run. I think you really managed to create a simple and intuitive interface. Maybe another tab for 3D scanning wouldn't hurt.
I have another question about the visualizer: You already have implemented the possibility to overlap scan data over time. I think it would be quite interesting to add even more data and create a more precise scan by filtering out noise from a lot of data points.
