@HeadsUpUAV - The range measurements are taken from the internal sensor element surface. This is almost in the center of Sweep's spinning head (only a couple mm off - which is in the noise). Any measurements taken closer than 1 meter have a high level of error (take a look at the new user manual), so telling the difference between an object 0cm and 10cm away is difficult.
