@v.vauchey - Thanks for the questions! We are working on an enclosure for a single Sweep sensor right now. It will use a vacuum formed poly-carbonate plastic window to provide water and dust resistance. Sweep can be used outdoors without an enclosure if the conditions allow (not raining or in a dust storm). We don't have an exact schedule for when the enclosure will become available, but we're hoping to showcase a working production prototype in early February.
As far as measurement degradation due to the window, we have been testing our sensor in our early enclosure prototypes with good results. I estimate only about a 2-3% loss in range due to the enclosure window. We are providing the ability for users to select how much light each rang measurement uses, which in turn affects the max range and update rate. If you have issues with not enough range, you will be able to turn down the measurement speed and get longer range and higher accuracy measurements.
As far as availability. We are working nights and weekends to try and get our units out as fast as possible.
